About Mike Harris

A Michigan native, Mike Harris is an experienced entrepreneur, technologist and business owner.

As co-founder and CEO of Worksighted, a leading technology services company based in Holland, Michigan, Mike knows what it takes to build something from the ground up. Through his leadership, Worksighted grew from a basement startup to a national managed service provider. The company earned multi-year recognition on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing list and Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. Mike also was named a finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year three times.

Worksighted was acquired by Thrive, one of the largest managed service providers in the country, in 2025.

Mike’s approach to business is rooted in faith, a commitment that is woven into Desert Lakes Capital’s mission to invest in growth, give back with intention and build with grit.

Brand Story

Desert Lakes Capital draws its inspiration from the two landscapes that have shaped Mike’s life and his family’s journey: the vibrant lakeshores of West Michigan and the enduring deserts of Arizona.

The story began in West Michigan, where Mike founded a technology company that became both the source of his family’s capital and a foundation for values of innovation, perseverance, and stewardship. The lessons learned in building that company, in embracing change, solving problems, and investing in people, continue to guide Desert Lakes Capital as it stewards the family’s legacy.

Arizona, meanwhile, has been close to Mike’s heart since he was a young boy, when his parents first began bringing him there. Over countless visits throughout his life, the desert’s beauty, vastness, and resilience became woven into his story, teaching him about endurance, reflection, and the power of God’s creation.

In the Christian tradition, the desert is a place of both testing and transformation, most powerfully seen in the life of Jesus, who was tested in the desert and emerged strengthened for His purpose. Lakes like the tranquil shores of West Michigan, were places of gathering, teaching, and renewal in the Gospels, where Jesus called disciples, calmed storms, and fostered community.
